This substantial Victorian era cuff bracelet features a large oval plaque with a hand carved floral spray & twisted rope frame border, attached to a wide flat flexible band. This unique piece is made of gutta percha, which is a dark, rubbery, organic substance derived from tropical trees; gutta percha was popular in jewelry in the mid 1800s, particularly in mourning jewelry.
