This English Victorian 18k gold mourning ring made in 1898 by London by ATW Alabaster & Wilson features black enamel head with a center pearl and the words “In Memoriam” on the shoulders; the underside of the head hides a small cavity that originally held a lock of hair & was sealed by a circle of beveled glass.
Measurements: size 6.5, head 7.5mm, hole opening diameter 3.5mm, weight 3.6 grams
Condition: great antique condition with light wear and some enamel loss as shown in photos
Markings: marked with English hallmarks and maker's mark as shown
