This exceptionally handcrafted sentimental Victorian era stick pin features a highly detailed bird in flight, most likely a swallow or dove, carrying a branch in its beak with an articulated hanging hand cut old mine cushion style diamond drop; this piece consists of solid 10k gold with the bird having a higher carat tri-color gold plating. In Victorian times the swallow symbolized love & hope, often with a wish of a safe return, while a dove holding an olive branch symbolized peace & harmony. **A neat feature of this piece is that there is a small section of gold sticking out underneath the bird's head that keeps the diamond drop from falling behind the bird's head
