This highly detailed sterling silver card case purse was made by Gorham Manufacturers during the early 1900s Aesthetic Movement and features a double sided rectangular design with a hand engraved woodland landscape of a bare tree and tall grasses, a flying heron style bird, and a small butterfly; one side bears the initials "JS." In the Victorian era, card cases were used to carry one's calling card to be presented during social visits, but this one can hold credit cards (as shown) or business cards.
Measurements: weight 70g, 3.5x2.25", 8.5mm thick, chain 10" long (possibly a replacement)
Condition: excellent antique condition with light surface wear, lid is tight
