This exceptional antique chatelain clip was made during the Aesthetic movement by New York City silver manufacturer Dominick & Haff, and features a mixed metals design with hand applied brass branches with flowers & berries and a beetle type bug, with an engraved floral pattern sterling silver background. This piece would have been attached to a belt and had multiple chains dangling from it, each with a useful household appendage such as scissors, thimbles, watches, keys, smelling salts, and household seals. Today this could be used as a unique pendant or charm holder, or even a money clip.
