This handmade late Victorian era sterling brooch was made in Chester, England and features a hollow figural ship's anchor with a twisted rope wire wrapped around it and a purple & yellow enamelled bird attached to it, as well as hand engraved texture details. This sentimental piece most likely was used as a sweetheart pin to be worn by someone who had a loved away at war, probably in the Navy during WWI.

Condition: good antique condition with surface wear & some enamel loss
Markings: fully marked with UK hallmarks and maker's mark, though unfortunately illegible
