This late 1800s 10k gold brooch features a stunning tintype portrait of a handsome gentleman in a bow tie and flips to the other side which has a woven blanket of hair encased in glass.  This substantial double sided brooch would have been used as a memento of a loved one who passed away.  We assume that the hair belongs to the gentleman.  This mourning pin weighs 24.3g and measures 56x43mm.  It is in great condition for its age, but has some surface wear and clasp is a later replacement/repair.  There are no markings but the piece has been tested and is guaranteed.  Follow me on Instagram for special deals ;) @mindilynjewelry
