This Victorian era substantial circle brooch comes from the Scottish Highlands and features an intricately engraved figural stag head with garnet eyes, set inside a round frame in the form of a belt and buckle, with inset bloodstone segments alternating green and red; there is a sash element that looks like the deer's tongue and a silver figural buckle. The pin also has a bale on the back so that it can be worn on a chain.
