This intricately detailed Art Nouveau chatelaine clip was made by Unger Brothers, which was a well known jewelry company and silversmith from Newark, New Jersey, that was best known for their sterling silver Art Nouveau designs and florals; this fantastic & rare piece features a large hollow Nouveau styled poppy flower with a clip on the underside. This piece would have been attached to a belt or sash and had multiple chains dangling from it, each with a useful household appendage such as scissors, thimbles, watches, keys, smelling salts, and household seals. Today this could be used as a unique pendant or charm holder, or even a money clip.
