Antique Victorian era shell cameo brooch/pendant finely hand carved with a winged Hebe pouring water for a drinking bird, most likely Zeus' eagle, set in a brass rope-edged oval frame with pendant bail and C-catch, circa 1870s–1900s. Hebe is the ancient Greek goddess of youth and was the daughter of Zeus and Hera; in this scene she is depicted alongside an eagle, which represents her father, Zeus, pouring divine nectar or ambrosia from a pitcher into a bowl for the eagle to drink, symbolizing eternal rejuvenation. In Roman mythology, she was known as Juventas, the personification of youth.
